I love working on wood! Just been playing with these and have much more work I'd like to do on them, but I'm finding out what mediums I like and how I like working with them.

I like working with pencils, paints, and stamps. So these have 'everything' into them. As I've been exploring in my journal with new mediums, I've been able to let the play time translate into finding what I like to do. Blending the accuracy of pencils with the translucency of paint is something I'm really into. I'll have to keep on playing until I come with the formula that I like...but so far I am pretty happy with the start of these.

Kitty and Me

My daughter loves cats. She has been a SPCA volunteer for the care of the cats in the shelter. There are so many that need good homes. I made this little 5 x 7 artwork to honor my sweet girl who holds such a deep kindness in her heart for stray and neglected animals. Just the other day, she found a stray little dog, took him home, gave him a bath, fed him, gave him water, clipped the matted fur away...and then we called the shelter to pick him up and see if they could find it's owner! That's my daughter!

Here she is with our 14 year old parakeet, Birdie Anne. Yes, I did say 14!

Here she is with our dog Bridgette who was recovering from an ear infection. Poor baby!

My ATC swaps for this months trading cards theme at Roses. I decided I would do "Goddesses" for my theme. Starting from the upper left, the "Sun Goddess", "Fire Goddess", "Wind Goddess",
"Water Goddess", "Earth Goddess", and "Lightening Goddess."

Happy Mother's Day!

Keeping up with my journal works! Wow! It isn't always easy to keep to the commitments I make to myself. A thousand projects in the works all at once makes Zinnia a tired girl! But, right now, I'm heading out to lunch with my daughter and enjoying some time with her this afternoon.

Hummm-Hummm!

I've been working on my Bird of Flight prompt for my journal group and I had so much fun playing with different mediums. I can't wait to explore more with all the different things I used on this. The up side is that I can get so many interesting affects, the down side might be that I take out so many materials and I am not the best at cleaning up when I am done! I usually work until something else pulls me away, and then I have to clean up later. Perhaps I should put a kitchen timer on so I HAVE to stop before I am stopped by something else.
