Mixed Devotions

Session Two

July 15 - August 25

Get Into Your Art! Mix it up, test out new techniques, try a new theme, and make bottle art that represents your own view of life, love, and happiness!

Mixed Devotions is a techniques class that encompasses the art of creating devotional bottles mixed media style.There are THREE different style bottles we will work on, Celestial Choir, Laughing Buddha, and a Wishing Bottle. You are welcome to purchase any of the kits I have available should you wish to use the same supplies I use. (Kits are limited). This is a techniques class, so you are welcome to use your own bottles and supplies too. All of the applications I show you can be modified to create any theme you like, with almost any bottle.

Now, if you have not tried wire work, you are in for a chance to use wire to incorporate beads, charms, and dangles that have exactly what you love to bring into your art. I happen to love czech beads, so I will be using them in my wire work. Grab your brushes, grab your pliers, and lets get going!

We'll be covering a variety of techniques that include:

• layering your bottle with paper and fabrics to give them an organic and textured appeal
• painting techniques, stenciling and wire work
• applying a variety of tops to your bottles
• Hand wrought wire worked chains will be demonstrated

Learn how to put your own personal sense of love, hope, personal empowerment, and devotion into each of your artworks!
